You've Got This
In physical therapy, you play an active role in your own recovery. It feels great knowing that you feel better because of YOUR effort!
Growth
During physical therapy, you can learn how to evenly distribute pressure on your ankle, knee, and hip joints.
Reduced Risk of Re-injury
Physical therapy reduces the risk of re-injury through coordination-enhancing activities and by strengthening and toning muscles.
Greater Flexibility
You can enjoy increased joint mobility and range of motion that improves quality of life.
Stronger Core
Physical therapy focuses on core stability and strengthening to restore pelvis and back muscle health (whole-body support).
Stress Relief
When you remove the stress of being unhealthy from your mind and body, you lower your cortisol levels. This can lower your risk of atherosclerosis, reduced brain functioning, high BP, and heart disease.
Increased Muscle Function
PT improves and maintains muscle integrity and strength by engaging your muscles in a series of predetermined movements and exercises.
Relief Without Medication & Surgery
Conservative treatments like physical therapy are healthier, more effective, and more cost-effective than surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is physical therapy?
If you’ve been injured in an automobile accident or another kind of accident, physical therapy can help you heal. Physical therapy, or rehabilitation, involves strengthening and stretching exercises with a physical therapist that enhance healing, reduce recovery time, and prevent future injuries.
Injuries that physical therapy can help you recover from include:
● Neck and back injuries
● Sprains and strains
● Brain and spinal cord injuries
● Joint injuries
● Post-surgical healing
● Chronic pain
In some cases, physical therapy and other natural treatments are all you need to heal from injuries, without the need for medications or surgery.
What are the benefits of physical therapy?
If you’ve been in an accident, physical therapy sessions can provide you with a number of health and wellness benefits, such as:
- Improvements in mental and physical capabilities
- An easier time completing everyday tasks
- Faster healing from injuries
- Improved strength and flexibility
- Decreases in chronic pain
- Better posture
Your provider customizes physical therapy sessions for you based on the type and severity of the injury you suffered.
What should I expect during my physical therapy sessions?
Your physical therapist will let you know what to expect during your sessions, and how many treatments you require to achieve optimal results. Your provider will create a treatment plan that best matches your individual needs, which may include:
- In-office stretching and strengthening exercises
- At-home strength and stretching exercises
- Assistive devices to enhance mobility, if necessary
- Braces for added support and to prevent future injuries
- Rehab exercises that improve cognitive function
- Nutrition counseling to optimize healing
- Chronic pain management strategies
- Using ComforTrac for added traction when you sleep
The providers at PTCare Mobile may recommend other natural treatments in addition to physical therapy, such as chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, massage, heat or ice therapy, ultrasound therapy, or interferential nerve stimulation.
The staff at PTCare try their best to avoid surgery but may refer you to a specialist if surgery gives you the best chance of making a full recovery. If you’ve been injured in an accident, call us for an evaluation today or book an appointment online.
What is the role of a Physical Therapist?
At PTCare Mobile, our team of highly skilled and compassionate physical therapists in Denver is committed to assisting patients in their recovery journey.
Our therapists specialize in injuries caused by automobile accidents, and have the expertise and empathy to provide exceptional care. They will not only guide patients through stretches, exercises, and techniques but also empower them with the tools they need to recover from injuries or manage chronic medical conditions effectively.
Why Should I see a PT after my Auto Accident?
Are you deliberating whether to seek physical therapy after an automobile accident? Here are the top 5 motivations to seek a physical therapist’s care following their car accident:
1) Physical Therapy is a Vital Component of the Recovery Process Following a Car Accident
When patients are involved in a car accident, they may not be aware of the severity of their injuries until they go back to doing their everyday tasks. Aches, rigidity, restricted range of movement, and persistent headaches/migraines are a few of the common issues. As such, physical therapy is essential to aid the healing process. This type of therapy helps the patient regain their strength, become more flexible, and reduce pain symptoms.
Our customized therapy programs can help the person recover more quickly than if they just remained in bed.
2) Physical Therapy Can Aid in Avoiding Long-Term Impacts from a Car Accident
As was previously mentioned, physical therapy can not only assist with healing from current injuries but also guard against long-term issues such as persistent pain and migraines. If not managed right away, car accident trauma can lead to chronic damage. However, by beginning physical therapy right after the accident, the patient can avoid considerable long-term pain. A Medscape report revealed that those who delayed receiving medical attention after a car accident were more likely to experience degenerative disc disease compared to those who started therapy straight away.
3) Decreasing Pain Through Exercise
Exercising regularly can help alleviate pain in the body. Physical activity can be beneficial to those who struggle with chronic or acute pain.
After a car accident, getting physical activity may not be the first thing that comes to mind, but it can help to soothe pain and facilitate healing. At PTCare Mobile, our professionals design tailored plans to tackle areas of discomfort and enhance motion. Each exercise serves a purpose and aims to rehabilitate mobility and capability. As the patient progresses, they become closer to a full recovery.
4) Physical Therapy Can Potentially Help People Avoid Needing an Operation
Injuries that are not life-threatening don’t necessarily exclude the need for surgery at some point in the future. This is especially true for those who don’t take preventative action. Physical therapy is a great way to avoid the cost and downtime of surgery while strengthening muscles, tendons, and ligaments to protect the body from further injuries.
5) Physical Therapy Can Revive Mobility in Individuals Who Have Experienced Trauma From Older Automobile Accidents
Recent car accidents are not a prerequisite for benefitting from physical therapy. In truth, physical therapy can facilitate regaining movement and functionality in people who experienced an old car crash. Through a combination of cardiovascular exercises and strength training, physical therapy can help patients come as close to a pain-free existence as possible.
Physical therapy is a safe and non-invasive treatment option that does not necessitate the use of opioid-based pain relief.
Who Pays for My Medical Bills?
Generally, there are three ways your medical bills can be paid if you are injured in an accident in the State of Arizona.
MEDICAL PAYMENT COVERAGE
MED PAY, through auto insurance, will pay for medical bills regardless of fault. You may have MED PAY and not even know it. If you are unsure if you have MED PAY, we will be happy to provide an insurance policy review for you.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Your health insurance may pay for medical bills incurred while treating injuries resulting from an auto accident, however, with increasing deductibles and higher co-pays, you may find your finances stretched to the breaking point. As with all medical treatment, when you use your health insurance, you will incur up-front costs such as a deductible or copay as your network out-of-pocket expenses. You may also exhaust any of your policy-limited medical benefits for the calendar year.
Lastly, most health insurance companies may not cover certain necessary services including but not limited to imaging, specialist referrals, and massage therapy.
LIEN
You may receive the medical treatment that you need on a healthcare provider’s lien. A lien is a document that allows you to receive the care you need with no up-front, out-of-pocket expenses. Typically, the lien is handled directly between the medical provider and the at-fault party’s insurance and/or through the assistance of an attorney. The medical provider is paid at the time of settlement by the at-fault insurance carrier and/or through the attorney.
Ultimately, the at-fault driver and his insurance company are responsible for the paying of all of your medical bills. However, they will not pay your bills as you get them, and health providers cannot bill them directly. Don’t be misled by an insurance adjuster or representative who promises to take care of your medical bills. You will be disappointed.
